__________________________________________________ The New Patient Experience
One of our goals is to offer state-of-the-art Chiropractic, Rehabilitation, and Nutritional care in a comfortable surrounding. Your time is set aside specifically for you so we can gather all the necessary information so that we know what you want and need to help you become happier and healthier. It is likely that you may be the only person that we are seeing at the time of your visit.
Completing your admitting paperwork ahead of time may save you 15-20 minutes. You may download and print our office forms and bring them with you to your appointment, just
click here. If completeing your paperwork in the office, you will consult with the doctor afterwards.
The Consultation
The purpose of your consultation is to discuss your health goals and see if we are likely to help you. During a brief conversation and review of your health history, we try to determine if you’re a good candidate for our care. We ask questions and do a lot of listening. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem.
The consultation also gives you an opportunity to tour our office, interview the doctor and learn more about how we can help you. Since ours is a partnership approach to better health, it’s important that you’re comfortable with us and the procedures and policies of our office. The consultation is a great way to find that out. If we don’t think we can help, we’ll tell you. If we think we can help, and you agree, we can usually proceed to the next step, which is a thorough examination. Our patients appreciate the fact that we explain everything in advance!
The Examination
If our consultation suggests that we can help you, we’ll need to perform a complete examination. Our patients often comment on how thorough our examination is, compared with others they've had in the past. Our examination varies based upon what we discover during the evaluation of your health history. What we find will tell us which examinations we need to conduct:
Physical
This is a general evaluation that may include the recording of height, weight, pulse,
blood pressure and similar objective measurements.
Orthopedic
These examinations test your ability to turn, bend and move key joints of your
skeletal system through their expected range of motion.
Neurological
We’ll test your dermatomes (sensation), reflexes, muscle strength and other
aspects pointing to the health of your central nervous system like balance and
functional performance tests.
Chiropractic
These tests can include postural evaluations, static and dynamic palpation and
other procedures to reveal neurological problems. The use a digital camera may
also be implemented to demonstrate postural issues that may be of concern.
Diagnostic
Your exam may determine that X-Rays or other diagnostic tests may be
indicated. We will discuss that with you if the need arises and explain why we
would need these studies for your care.
After performing a consultaion and examination and ordering any potential diagnostic studies we'll need to spend some time analyzing the information. Because we want to go about helping you in a safe manner with your best interest in mind, your care
typically will not begin the same day as the consult and exam, however, in certain situations, and in the professional judgment of the doctor, we sometimes make exceptions. It just depends on your unique situation.
The Report of Findings
During a second visit following your consult and exam, we’ll spend about 15 minutes reviewing our findings with you and offering answers to your questions. Our goal is offer you the very best our care has to offer. Based on our findings, we’ll make recommendations and you’ll be presented with some choices and care plans that suit your needs.
